Amazon Shipments to SJSU

Please be advised that in the past two weeks, Amazon drivers have left packages outside of the Corporate Yard B building during our non-business hours on three occasions – March 21, March 28, and March 31 (Saturday). SJSU associates found these packages and stored them safely overnight; however, we do not know if everything delivered to the campus was located. We are not aware if other university locations that receive their own deliveries are experiencing this same issue.

Amazon does not require a signature for deliveries and this has led to their drivers leaving packages at any door in the Corporate Yard area. The Amazon Logistics management team acknowledges this is an unacceptable practice and is working on a solution to the problem.

When placing your Amazon orders, please exercise caution by requesting items be delivered to the Amazon Locker location on 96 East San Fernando St. or by requiring a signature at the time of delivery. Please note that you will need to retrieve any items delivered directly to the Amazon Locker.

If you have any questions, please contact the Distribution Services Manager, Sonja Bowsky, at (408) 924-1592 or sonja.bowsky@sjsu.edu and she will address your concerns.

Personal Shipments

Happy holiday season to all!

We are quickly entering that time of year where gifts are being ordered and received.  As a reminder, services provided by Distribution Services are reserved exclusively for university business. The receiving, shipping, or mailing of personal items are not allowed.  SJSU will not pay for any loss or damage which may be incurred to personal shipments. Also, personal shipments sent to Distribution Services may be refused and returned to the carrier.

As an alternative option this holiday season, personal orders through Amazon can be shipped to their new store located at 96 East San Fernando St. For more information about this location and business hours, please visit Amazon@DowntownSanJose .
