I am pleased to announce that Sylvia Sosa has been promoted to Contract Administration Specialist in Contracts and Purchasing Services (C&PS). Sylvia brings 12 years of Public Works contracting experience with SJSU, and has been a key member of the team since she joined C&PS in January of 2018. She is also a proud SJSU graduate!

We are quickly entering that time of year where gifts are being ordered and received. As a reminder, services provided by Distribution Services are reserved exclusively for university business. The receiving, shipping, or mailing of personal items are not allowed. SJSU will not pay for any loss or damage which may be incurred to personal shipments. Also, personal shipments sent to Distribution Services may be refused and returned to the carrier.
As an alternative option this holiday season, personal orders through Amazon can be shipped to their new store located at 96 East San Fernando St. For more information about this location and business hours, please visit Amazon@DowntownSanJose . In addition to the Amazon location, packages can be held at FedEx and UPS locations for pickup at no charge.

For employees who track or manage department budgets, please note that the month of October 2018 is now closed in CFS.
This means that the General Ledger (GL) system will not accept any more entries with a September journal date. October transactions can still be entered into the GL system, but the journal date must be 11/1/2018 or later. The current period open is November 2018.
