Congratulations to SJSU Lurie College of Education Counselor Education Department faculty member Michele Burns, who was recently featured on the California Career Development Association (CCDA) website for her contributions to the career counseling industry! The remarks on the CCDA website read:
“As the former CCDA Secretary for the Silicon Valley Chapter, Michele was instrumental in planning the Northern CA conferences and regional events. She is also an adjunct lecturer for the SJSU College of Education teaching the Career Exploration and Community-Based Organizations Serving Children/Youth courses for the Counselor Education and Child/Adolescent Development departments, respectively. Michele was also the Principal Investigator and Director of the In-custody Educational Services grant having coordinated college credit-bearing courses and provided the Student Success: Education and Career Planning workshops. Her expertise has also been shared with colleagues at education and career development conferences including: CALPCC, CCDA, CCCSAA, CEA, HECT, and WACAC. Michele is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) and holds a Master’s in Education/Counseling and Student Personnel, PPS Credential, and CTE Credential for Education/Child Development/Family Services; with certification for College Counseling (UCLA), QPR – Save a Life Suicide Prevention, and ASCA bullying Prevention Training.”
