CHRS Recruiting Full System Overview Posted

We recently held a full system overview for Hiring Managers, Department Chairs, and our College and HR Contacts. The video is now posted for all employees. In addition, the slides used during the presentation are also available. The link to this information is below and can also be found on the CHRS Recruiting Training webpage.

After you review the video and/or the slides, please take a few minutes to complete the CHRS Recruitment: Change Readiness Assessment. This will help the Change Management team with future communication and change management initiatives.

CHRS Recruiting System Overview Today!

The CHRS Recruiting System Overview is for anyone who has a role in recruitments for faculty or staff and would like to better understand the new recruiting system. The overview will include a high-level review of the software, information about timelines, testing, training and support. There will also be time for questions from the attendees. Enroll by 12:00pm today. The Course Number is CHRS06.

    • Date: Today, Wednesday, May 27
    • Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Today’s session will be recorded and posted on the UP website for anyone unable to attend.

Steps to Enroll:

    1. Navigate to Enroll in Training Classes
    2. Click Search by Course Number
    3. Enter the Course Number – CHRS06
    4. Click Search
    5. Click the hyperlink for the Session for which you wish to enroll
    6. Click Enroll
    7. Once enrolled you will be provided with the Zoom login information

CHRS Recruiting Training Update

Training courses for CHRS Recruiting were originally scheduled to begin this month. However, due to a shift in the overall timeline of the project, the training will now begin in June. Details are being finalized and an announcement is forthcoming.

If you previously registered for a training session, you will be contacted and given first priority to move to one of the new dates. At this time, we are planning to deliver all training remotely via Zoom. We also plan to record a session of each course and make them available online.

CHRS Recruiting Update

You may have seen several emails in the past few months regarding CHRS Recruiting, the new tool for faculty and staff recruitments. Staff members in University Personnel, along with a number of other employees on campus, have been working on implementing this new system since December 2019 with the anticipated go-live later this year. As we move forward we wanted to provide a few updates.

First, this new tool will be used by many employees on campus but not necessarily everyone. Those most impacted are:

    • Individuals who initiate and support recruitments – typically department/college administrative staff, department chairs and/or managers
    • Search committee chairs and committee members of tenure-track and temporary faculty recruitments, as well as staff and MPP recruitments
    • Hiring managers

Second, a message went out in March announcing an overview session for CHRS Recruiting as well as numerous training sessions. Unfortunately, due to current events, the April 15th overview session has been cancelled. Once more is known about the coming weeks and months, it will be rescheduled either in-person or remotely via Zoom.

You may still register for the training sessions announced in the prior message but there is a possibility that some of the dates will change. We are also exploring how to remotely deliver these training sessions. The current schedule of classes can be viewed in SJSU @ Work – Click Search by Course Number, enter “CHRS”, then click Search.

The previously announced Change Management for Managers course on April 7th was cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Finally, our plan is to continue moving forward with the implementation of this new tool and get you the training and support you need. We will adjust our timeline as needed while continuing to adapt to the changing environment around us.
