Staff Council Election Announcement

Calling all SJSU staff members!

Are you passionate about making a difference on campus? Do you want to champion initiatives that benefit your colleagues and create a positive work environment?

The SJSU Staff Council is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join its ranks!  They are dedicated to promoting staff well-being, professional development, and recognition on campus.

They’re currently accepting nominations for the next term (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026).  Think you have what it takes, or know someone who does? Nominate yourself or a colleague by May 31st, 2024.

Spring Celebration Event – Hosted by SJSU Staff Council

SJSU Staff Council invites you to a Spring Celebration Event on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 11:30am – 1:00pm at the Bell Rose Garden.

Come meet with our new President, Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, Staff Council Executive Committee, fellow members, and colleagues from across campus.

SJSU and auxiliary staff are invited!

Tower Cards for Faculty, Staff, Auxiliary, Volunteers and Other POIs

As of today, University Personnel will print and distribute Tower Cards for Faculty, Staff, Auxiliary Employees, Volunteers, Visiting Scholars and other Persons of Interest (POIs). The Bursar’s Office will only manage the distribution of Tower Cards for students.

In order to obtain a Tower Card, an employee or POI must complete a 2-step process:

    1. Upload a photo to MyID
    2. Complete the Tower (ID) Card Mailing Request Form 

All cards will be mailed to the address listed on the form above. Employees may contact University Personnel via email at university-personnel@sjsu.edu with any Tower Card inquiries.

Save the Date: 54th Annual Spartan Service Celebration – Wednesday, March 2, 2022

The 54th Annual Spartan Service Celebration honors SJSU staff members who reached a milestone year of service between January 1 and December 31, 2021. We will honor employees with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service!

This virtual livestream event will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 2:30pm – 4:30pm and will include the 3rd Annual Staff Awards presentation. Awards will be presented for Spartan Spirit, Distinguished Service, and Staff of the Year – you don’t want to miss it!

More information about the celebration will follow in the coming weeks but we encourage you to register now. View the full list of honorees, along with additional event information, on the University Personnel website.

Form W-2s Posted on Cal Employee Connect

No need to wait for your Form W-2 in the mail – it’s been posted on Cal Employee Connect! You will still get a hard copy in the mail but now you can get a head start on your taxes.
