CSU’s Got Talent LIVE Webinar: Safety for the Campus Community in the Digital Age Thursday, September 30

Adam Dodge, EndTAB Founder and Licensed Attorney, will present “Safety for the Campus Community in the Digital Age” on Thursday, September 30 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. PT.

Today, we are spending more time online and on our devices than ever before, which has created new safety risks, including for students, victims of gender-based violence and others. As such, it has become increasingly important to develop skills that prioritize our digital safety. EndTAB’s interactive and engaging workshop will empower attendees to help members of the campus community navigate the digital abuse landscape and stay safe.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Demystifying the digital safety landscape on campus
  • Issues students and other campus community members may face online today
  • Why you don’t need to be a tech expert to help people stay safe in the digital age
  • Having helpful and supportive conversations
  • Tips on navigating and understanding tech-enabled trauma

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is the capability to relate and work effectively in culturally diverse situations. Your CQ predicts your readiness for working and relating effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. This webcast will explore what cultural intelligence is, why it matters at Cal State and strategies for improving your CQ. We will also discuss why it is the foundation to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Hammer Theatre Presents: Cyrano de Bergerac

James McAvoy (X-Men, Atonement) returns to the stage in an inventive adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, captured live in 2020 from the West End in London.

Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all – if only he could win the heart of his true love Roxane. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of Cyrano – or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?

Edmond Rostand’s masterwork is adapted by Martin Crimp, with direction by Jamie Lloyd (Betrayal). This classic play will be brought to life with linguistic ingenuity to celebrate Cyrano’s powerful and resonant resistance against overwhelming odds.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Based on the acclaimed novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens Captured live from the National Theatre in London, this critically acclaimed production directed by Marianne Elliot (Angels in America, War Horse) has astonished audiences around the world and has received seven Olivier and five Tony Awards.

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

Jeremy Pollack, Mediator, Coach, Trainer, Organizational Interventionist, and founder of Pollack Peacebuilding Systems presents “Conflict Resolution vs. Conflict Transformation: When is Each Appropriate” on Wednesday, July 28th from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. PT.

Human beings are prone to cognitive biases and heuristics. In many cases, our mental shortcuts and snap judgments can be extremely useful. Unfortunately, however, they are also the source of much conflict. In this session, discover the everyday unconscious biases each of us holds which lead to greater intrapsychic and interpersonal conflict. Learn techniques to stay aware of these biases and transition into a peace-oriented mindset.
