Special Procedures for Retrieving Locker Contents

We have special procedures for those wanting to retrieve the contents of their Nutrition, Food Science, and Packaging Department locker that was used in the Spring 2020 semester. Please read all of the procedures below.

Locker Contents Retrieval Procedure
If possible, please make an appointment with the instructional support technician, Wendee Augustiro (contact info below), to pick up your locker contents. Central Classroom Building will remain locked through Fall 2020, so an appointment needs to be made to retrieve your items.
If you cannot or choose not to come back to campus to pick up your locker contents, then we will ship your items back to you. Please complete this form to request your items to be shipped back to you: Request Form for Locker Contents to be Returned by Mail.

Applying into the Applied Nutrition and Food Sciences Concentration
To Prospective Freshman and Transfer students interested in the Dietetics Concentration within the B.S. in Nutritional Science Major:
Please apply into the Applied Nutrition and Food Sciences Concentration. Once admitted into the major, you will have a chance to apply into the Dietetics Concentration if you have a minimum SJSU cumulative GPA of 3.0, complete Chem 1A, and complete a NUFS course with a “C” grade or better.

WHISK goes live!
WHISK (Wellness and Health Inspired Student Kitchens) is a program that will recruit and train Nutrition, Food Science, and Packaging students to lead nutrition education and cooking demonstrations for our campus community.

ATTENTION Masters Program Applicants: The graduate school application system, CSU Mentor, has been replaced with Cal State Apply (calstate.edu/apply) as of June 1, 2017.

Curriculum scheduling update: Both NUFS 108A and NUFS 109 will be offered every semester starting Fall 2017.

Dr. Fritz Yambrach received the top award in the DuPont International Innovative Package Design competition this year with his Fritz Water Vest (pictured below). This is very prestigious as it has an international team of judges and is very well respected in the packaging technology field. Their comments recognized Fritz Water Vest as an example of Packaging technology applied to improving people’s lives. For more info about the Fritz Water Vest, visit www.FritzWaterVest.org.
