Hello,
I hope you all had a nice holiday break and staying warm in this much cooler winter season.
As you may all know, this is the period when the Office of the Registrar is busy processing the final grades for the Fall 2016, attending to registration needs of our students who are registering for the winter session, processing of academic standing, graduation clearing, and prepping for the Spring 2017 semester.
In this regard, I’m happy to share with you some updates about the Fall 2016 grading/academic standing, graduation, and the Spring 2017 Grading Bulletin.
1. Academic standing
Today, we will start reviewing the repeats and academic standing reports. Academic standing will officially print on academic records by Tuesday, Jan. 10. By then, the Associate Deans of all 7 colleges would be able to run the reports through SAMI, student database for Enrollment Services. The Office of the Registrar will message all impacted students (probation, continued probation, disqualification) on Tuesday, Jan. 10 as well. Subsequently, Academic Advising and Retention Services (AARS) will message students about the next steps to assist our students in maintaining their enrollment, and appropriate requirements for reinstatement applicable.
2. Undergraduate Graduation clearing
Starting Tuesday, Jan. 10, the Graduation Evaluation team will start the final clearing and posting of degrees for Fall 2016. We have posted on our website important information about the Fall 2016 graduation clearing. Please direct your staff and students to visit our website at http://www.sjsu.edu/registrar/
3. Spring 2017 Registration Bulletin
The Spring 2017 Registration Bulletin is now posted on our website as well. This is an important reference for dates and deadlines for the upcoming semester.

Likewise, we will be messaging our students via their MySJSU sometime next week, the “Eligible to Enroll Message” that contains important deadlines from the offices of the Registrar’s, Bursar’s, Financial Aid, and AARS.
