Think Globally – Dig Locally | Full Circle & Veggielution

4/4/14 – More than 230 SJSU students and faculty participated in a great day of service with fellow Spartans to learn more about urban farming and assist local organic communities.  There was such overwhelming interest that the group had to visit two site locations – spending the morning at Full Circle Farm and the afternoon at Veggielution Community Farm, which is run by SJSU alums.  Organized by Mary Poffenroth (2013 Salzburg Fellow) with the assistance of James Morgan (2013 Salzburg Fellow) and Laura Schilling (2013 Salzburg Fellow), the event was organized to help support SJSU’s celebration of sustainability and Earth Day – a worldwide phenomenon that has been celebrated annually since 1970 and originated with a proposal by San José State alumnus and US Senator Gaylord Nelson.
