“Harish Chander, Enterprise Systems Analyst and Programmer for Information Technology, went above and beyond the call of duty in arranging for access to a web-based software application for clinical research (Research Electronic Data Capture [REDCap]). Harish appreciated the importance of negotiating a license to support the research of one incoming faculty member in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) as well as the long-term potential for supporting the research enterprise at SJSU. The process of creating an institutional agreement for access to the free version of the software required significant research, problem-solving, and facilitated communication between different stakeholders. Harish was willing to step outside the typical duties of a PeopleSoft programmer and tackle this challenge with tenacity and enthusiasm.
