March Schedule Delayed

At this time, the FDT is still working on the schedule for March for all communities.  As part of this, we are auditing all students overnight availability and we will be giving them some extra time to update it so they meet the minimum 3 nights availability.

Due to this, we will be publishing the schedule a little later than anticipated.  We hope to have the schedule for March published February 19, 2020.



March Schedule-Availability Open

We are working on creating the March schedule by Friday, February 14, 2020.  In order to do this, we will be re-opening availability.  You will be able to update your availability from Friday, February 7, 2020-Monday, February 10, 2020 at 9:00am.

As a reminder, please put in your class schedule for the whole semester, you should only be updating your availability with things outside your class schedule.

If class and RA duty schedules are not in your availability by this time, your drop/swap requests won’t be processed/approved until you meet with the Community Desk Specialist.

We have noticed a very high demand of drop/swap request.  Since training 206 requests have been submitted.  Of those 194, 92 were accepted, 13 are pending, 67 were cancelled, 23 were declined by the FDT, 5 expired, and 6 were declined by all recipients.

We have created a drop/swap and unpaid time off request cheat sheet (that can also be found in the OA shared drive) for you to reference on what category your request may fall into (this is not all inclusive, just what we have seen):

Requests that do not have a reason will be automatically denied.
*In excess of 24 hours means when you will be unavailable for the 3 full nights requirement.

Spring OA Availability & Schedule

As we start preparing for the Spring semester OA schedule, we need all OA’s to update their availability by December 15, 2019.  We understand your class schedule may change, but we need an idea of your schedule and your availability.

As a reminder, the following should be included in your availability to avoid scheduling conflicts:

Class Schedules Scheduled class times for the week (midterms are not included)
RA Duty/Meetings Your RA duty and weekly RA meetings
Sports Commitments If you are an athlete, please put in all your practice times, games, etc.
Student Groups If you belong to any student groups or student government
Internships/Other non-SJSU Job If you have an internship or another job outside SJSU
Any other outside commitments If you attend a weekly meeting or anything that is reoccurring

We plan to publish the January schedule by January 15, 2020.  Please keep an eye out in WIW for your schedule around that time.  As a reminder, desks open back up on January 18th at 6:00pm.
