SJSU International Student & Alumni share about the challenges and successes in searching for and finding internships and jobs through the pandemic. The panel will also discuss what it’s like working during the COVID-19 years, and share their tips on the job search process, networking, and career development as a former international student. Meet our Panelists
Joel Alvares
Joel is an SJSU alumni who graduated with his Masters in Computer Science in Spring’ 21. He came to the US in 2019 from his hometown in India. He currently works as a FPGA Software Engineer at Intel. He would love to share his experience and some tips/tricks to land a job.
Tran Bui
Tran is a senior SJSU student with an anticipated graduation term of Spring 2022. She is currently majoring in Business Administration, concentrating in Management Information Systems. She will be working at Deloitte as a Tax Consultant this upcoming Fall upon graduation. She is from Vietnam and she came to the US in 2016.
Haeseo (Hazel) Choi
Haeseo (Hazel) is an SJSU alumni graduating with a Master in Urban Planning in Spring 2021. She is currently working as a Geographic Information System analyst for Apple and fellow with Green 2.0. Hazel has a BA from Dongduk Women’s University (Seoul, S.Korea) and came to the US in 2019.
Manovikas Ramaswamy
Manovikas is an SJSU alumni who graduated with a Masters in Software Engineering in Spring 2021. He is currently working as a Software Development Engineer in Amazon Web Services at Seattle. He is from Hyderabad, India and he came to the US in Fall 2019.
