Resilience – The ability to pick yourself up and move forward after challenges, adversity or tragedy.

Resilience can play an important part in your success.  Here are some ideas that you can consider to become more resilient.

Tips for Building Resilience

Self-esteem: A positive sense of self and confidence can reduce feelings of helplessness in the face of adversity.  Tell yourself “I can do this!”

Emotional Regulation: The capacity to manage overwhelming emotions or seek assistance to work through them, helps to overcome challenges.

Be Proactive: Focus on taking actions ASAP. Do not let your problems grow.

Change your Mindset about adversity: Focus on how you can grow stronger from the situation instead of expressing self pity. Remind yourself of the things you are grateful for.

Social Connection: Do not try to handle everything on your own. Develop healthy relationships and lean on your social circle. Having supportive people around you can lead to positive outcomes.

Self-Care: Remember to take time for yourself, sleep, eat healthy and recharge in order to maintain a healthy mental, physical and emotional balance. Exercise, meditate and laugh when you can.
