With the excitement surrounding the new school year and reuniting with friends, we want to help you stay safe if you choose to drink. Check out the following tips and remember to party with a plan. Before the party, eat plenty of food, plan the number of drinks you will have, and know how you will get home safely (i.e. designated driver or walker, Uber/Lyft, or local cab). During the party, if you decide to drink, remember “pace and space”; this means one drink and one water per hour. Keep track of how much you are drinking, do not leave drinks unattended, and avoid mixing alcohol with other substances. After the party, use your sober designated driver, drink plenty of water, and check-in on your friends. If anyone is showing signs of alcohol poisoning or overdose, call 9-1-1.
