Beth has been at San José State University for 24 years, serving in a variety of roles, currently as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director of Spartan Shops, Inc., the campus commercial auxiliary. Beth has also worked in both University Advancement and served as the campus Director of Governmental Affairs. She is an SJSU alumna, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.

A. Helping people see that SJSU is not just a huge bureaucracy, but a close knit community

Q. Who is someone that inspires you?
A. Dr. Bill McCraw, professor of Political Science who just celebrated 50 years on our campus. I took my first political science class from him in 1978. He was so gifted, and completely inspired me! And he continues to inspire students today!
