Lucas College and Graduate School of Business Named One of Fortune’s Top 50 Best MBA Programs for 2025
The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business’ MBA program has achieved a significant milestone, with its MBA program earning a spot among Fortune’s Top 50 Best MBA programs for 2025. Additionally, the business school has been ranked in the top 5 among public universities in California.
This comes just days after the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and College Pulse’s 2025 Best Colleges in the U.S. rankings, which ranked SJSU as the #4 best public university in the nation and #16 overall.
“This ranking not only highlights the excellence of our MBA program but also showcases the strength of our other graduate and undergraduate offerings, such as the MS in Taxation, MS in Transportation Management, and the recently STEM-designated MS in Accounting and Analytics and MS in Financial Analytics programs,” says Rangapriya (Priya) Kannan, dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business.
“Our faculty and staff are committed to delivering top-notch education and mentorship to every student. We take great pride in the achievements of our programs and the positive contributions our alumni are making in their industries, both in Silicon Valley and globally.”
David Czerwinski, associate dean of undergraduate and graduate programs, added, “Our MBA program’s inclusion in Fortune’s rankings builds on the recognition we received last year from Poets&Quants, further validating the strength and impact of our graduate business education.” In 2024, the online MBA program also achieved a national ranking as one of the top 50 online business programs and secured the #2 spot among public universities in California.
SJSU offers two distinct MBA programs: the Early Career MBA for students with fewer than five years of work experience and the MBA for Professionals for those with five or more years of relevant work experience.
“The stoutest part of our MBA program is the focus on experiential education based in Silicon Valley,” says Tanvi Kothari, professor and director of the MBA program.
“Fortune’s ranking methodology, which considers various critical factors such as the educational background of America’s top leaders and the success of recent graduates, aligns perfectly with the strengths of the SJSU MBA program, which prides itself in providing affordable education to the global leaders of tomorrow!”
Last year, SJSU was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as the #1 public university in the nation for accounting salaries for graduates and #2 for marketing. This year, it has also been ranked among the top 20 public universities for salaries in management consulting.
“We are no longer a hidden gem, we’re just a gem. We are deeply appreciative of the recognition the college has received for our consistent efforts and achievements over the years,” says Kannan.
