Lucas College and Graduate School Online MBA Program Ranks Top 50 Nationally, #2 Among Public Universities in California
The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business’ MBA program has earned national recognition by Poets&Quants as one of the top 50 online MBA rankings in the United States. It has also been ranked as #2 among public universities in California. This is the first year the college has participated in the rankings.
“This recent ranking is not only a reflection of our MBA program, but also of all our other graduate and undergraduate programs, including our MS in Accountancy, MS in Finance, MS in Taxation, and MS in Transportation Management. Our faculty members are dedicated to providing the highest quality education and mentorship to all of our students, regardless of their program of study. We are proud of the success of our programs and the positive impact that our alumni are making to their industries in Silicon Valley and throughout the world,” says Rangapriya (Priya) Kannan, dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business.
Poets&Quants is a business education resource that offers a wide range of information for current and prospective MBA candidates. Colleges were assessed on three core dimensions that revolved around the quality of the incoming students, graduates’ assessment of the MBA experience, both academic and extracurricular activities and career outcomes for graduates.
SJSU offers two MBA programs: the Early Career MBA Program for students with fewer than five years of work experience and the MBA for Professionals for those with five or more years of relevant work experience.
MBA students have access to a wide range of opportunities to participate in student life, including the Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA), the EMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation, and a signature core course known as the Silicon Valley Experience. The course provides a range of professional development activities including company visits, academic competitions, and networking events to help students grow and succeed in their careers. During a recent company visit, 40 MBA students had the opportunity to meet with Sumeet Syal, Intel’s General Manager of Sales & Marketing of Global Accounts. The students gained valuable knowledge on strategic sales approaches and competitive marketing techniques.
The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business is no stranger to top rankings. In the U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings, the college was ranked in the top 20 Best Undergraduate Business Programs among public universities in California. Earlier this year, SJSU was recognized by Wall Street Journal as the #1 public university in the nation for accounting salaries for graduates and #2 for marketing.
