Welcome back to all of our returning international students and welcome to all of our new international students, joining us for fall 2021! We hope that you are as excited as we are to have you as part of our Global Spartan family. You represent over 100 countries from around the world and you continue to broaden our perspectives as a campus. You are such a valued member of our campus community and all of us in International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) are here to support you and to help you succeed.
This fall semester, as has been announced, ISSS is excited to have transitioned to a hybrid mode, meaning we will be offering both virtual and in-person advising appointments and front line advising, providing you with ample opportunities to connect with us. Please refer to this page for a more detailed schedule outlining the different options. We ask that you schedule an appointment (either virtual or in-person) with an advisor for the more complex questions. For quick questions, no appointment is necessary. You can simply stop by the office during our in-person hours or during our daily zoom Q&A sessions.
We hope that you will continue to stay engaged by participating in the many programming offerings, both virtual and in-person, this fall. Tap into any of our ISSS team members and connect with our wonderful Global Leaders. You can learn more about the ISSS team by going here.
We also want to remind you to complete the COVID-19 vaccination requirements by September 30th, including the self-certification form. For more detailed information, please go here. As a reminder, wearing a mask when entering a building at SJSU is mandatory, regardless of vaccination status, per Santa Clara County guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation in abiding by these guidelines to ensure the health, safety and well-being of you, other students, faculty and staff on campus. Please refer to the Presidential Directive which outlines the SJSU campus safety protocols and compliance measures for students to follow.
Finally, welcome to the fall 2021 semester. I know that this semester will provide you with many opportunities to make new connections, experience new adventures and to continue your personal growth. We are so proud of each and every one of you and all that you bring to our campus and our classrooms. Don’t forget to stay in touch with us in ISSS. Best of luck as you start this next chapter of your international experience in the fall 2021 semester!
