Jue, Roger (Mechanical Engineering) is Stepping Beyond (3)

“Roger does numerous jobs for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, but spends most of his time running the machine shop where students work on their projects. He works very hard every day to keep the machines running, organizing the tools, and ordering replacement parts. It’s a pretty thankless job. He does his very best to provide the best equipment possible with minimal financial support. Additionally, he provides careful advice and technical support to all students who ask. If you’re not sure how to make your project, Roger will give you some advice or ideas. More than anything, he is a kind, gentle, person who always has a smile on his face. Whenever you’re stressed about classes, you can say hi to him in the hall and he’ll brighten your day.” –Anonymous

“Kindly teaching students how to properly use tools in the machine shop. He also goes out of his way to help students with their various projects.” –Nathan Barrett

“Assists many students with the manufacturing of their senior or student organization projects. Went beyond by holding Saturday training sessions to ensure everyone who needed shop access was properly trained in shop safety practices.” –Anonymous
