This summer, they’re diving deep into diverse industries, from tech to consumer goods, and developing essential skills. We asked a few of them about the skills they’ve developed and how these opportunities are shaping their future career goals.

“It has opened me to a new industry and career path. I never thought of working in consumer goods but my internship has shown me how big of an industry it is and how much I enjoy it.”

“This internship impacted my future career goals in a positive way, giving me hands-on experience at a global tech company. Interning at Adobe allowed me to deepen my understanding of web production, content management systems, and cross-functional collaboration at a global scale.”

Intern at PCC Logistics
What’s one skill you’ve gained during your internship so far?
“One new skill I’ve developed during my internship is working with logistics software platforms, including but not limited to ExportFile, TMSEZ, and proprietary warehouse management systems. Through these tools, I learned how to accurately input shipment data, track containers from their arrival to their departure from the warehouse, ensure all required documentation is updated and submitted, and much more.”
How has this internship impacted your future career goals?
“As an international business major/concentration with a political science minor, this experience confirmed my interest in working in port logistics and global trade. This internship shaped my career goals by giving me a full view of how a 3PL company operates and how it fits into the larger global supply chain. Through shadowing different departments, I saw how each part of the logistics process works together to move goods efficiently. I also had the opportunity to talk with my supervisor about current political events and how they affect shipping, tariffs, and global supply chains. It was helpful to see how news translates into real business decisions. I’m now excited to explore cross-border logistics even further during my upcoming semester abroad in Mexico.”

What’s one skill you’ve gained during your internship?
One new skill that I have developed during my internship is how to adapt to rapid changes on a dime and utilizing the cross functional structure of the company to my advantage when adjusting to multiple changes in my project and day to day adapting.
How has this internship impacted your future career goals?
This internship has opened my eyes immensely to the many different roles there are in the tech space, and specifically this company. The program is very big on networking and exposing ourselves to different careers, roles, and expertise through the Apple Directory. I will continue to foster these new connections as I continue.

One new skill I’ve developed during this internship is translating employee feedback into actionable insights. I identified key pain points and proposed improvements, which ultimately helped increase user engagement.

This internship has given me real-world exposure to the HR field, especially in areas like employee experience, internal communications, and process improvement. Being able to contribute to projects that impact employee satisfaction and engagement has shown me the kind of meaningful work I want to do long term!

I networked with a very large number of Deloitte professionals over the course of the internship, and I feel that I learned something valuable in every single conversation. This internship showed me how important it is to connect with people and learn from them, so it inspired me to keep building solid relationships that will shape my career path.

What’s one skill you’ve gained during your internship?
Improving how I present in a professional manner. A lot of my work involved doing market research, but the real challenge was taking all that data and explaining it in a way the sales team could easily understand and actually use. Having to break things down has taught me how to be clear and confident when presenting, which I know will help me in any marketing role moving forward.
How has this internship impacted your future career goals?
This summer was full of challenges, but those experiences helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect and helped me step out of my comfort zone. Starting my marketing internship, I had to learn everything from the ground up. It pushed me to figure things out quickly, ask better questions, and really adapt.
