UPD seeks holiday gifts for children in need through Dec. 6

San José State University’s Police Department will again be collecting toys for children in need around the campus. For the 22nd Annual Toy Drive,  donors have until Dec. 6 to drop off a new toy in the lobby of the University Police Department or at a donation box on campus. Employees and staff members can also drop off unwrapped toys at a table during the Seasonal Celebration on Dec. 4, in Barrett Ballroom. This year, Tower Foundation put up a tree with tags for donors who wanted to select toys for a specific child. The tags include the name of a child and the child’s age.

UPD is accepting toys for children up to age 11. Donors can also give money to the effort at www.sjsu.edu/giving or by sending a check to Tower Foundation, San José State University, One Washington Square, San José, CA 95192-0256. (please reference UPD Holiday Toy Drive on your check; Tower Foundation tax ID 83-0403915).

Those interested in volunteering to help wrap gifts on Dec. 11, in the Event Center Aerobics room, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or with delivery or pick up of gifts on Dec. 14, in the UPD office, from 8 a.m. to noon, can contact John Laws at john.laws@sjsu.edu for more information.
