Brad Stone (2009 Salzburg Fellow & Professor – Chemistry) was honored with the 2013 SJSU Distinguished Service Award at the 14th Annual Faculty Recognition Luncheon (4/23/13).  Eight other Salzburg Fellows were also recognized for their years of service at SJSU:

Salzburg Retiree

Jill Steinberg (2006 Salzburg Fellow and Professor Emeritus – Department of Psychology) has kept busy since retiring in 2007.  Jill served as a faculty member and counselor for 30 at SJSU and played critical roles in founding both the SJSU Peer Mentor Program and in helping establish the SJSU Salzburg Scholars portion of the SJSU Salzburg Program.  An active participant in the Osher Life Long Learners (OLLL) program at UCSC, Jill’s most recent venture is the launch of a new website on retirement, MyRetirementWorks, which examines the research on successful retirement and includes stories of fellow retirees who have also been active in OLLL.   Contact Jill directly for more information.

Student Internship | CFA

4/26/13 – Applications are due for Student Internship.  The California Faculty Association is recruiting interns to assist its efforts on behalf of the faculty and students at SJSU and throughout the rest of the CSU system.  This program provides students with hands-on formal training in:
  • Lobbying and political organizing
  • Strategic campaign planning and coordination
  • Building an organization on campus
  • Effective communications
The position will start at the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester, with a weekend training in mid-late August (date TBA).  Must be a current student and able to verify residency or citizenship once hired.  See CFA website for more information and to apply online.
