More on Optimal Questionnaire Design for Surveys and Experiments

Workshop to help researchers interested in the creation of surveys

Researchers setting out to conduct a questionnaire-based study often assume that the process of designing a questionnaire is simple and intuitive, and that reusing items from questionnaires that have been used in past research is a wise way to efficiently design a new questionnaire. In this workshop, Dr. Jon A. Krosnick will continue demonstrating how much more challenging questionnaire design is, and how to overcome these challenges when guided by the right empirically-grounded principles for producing reliable and valid data. Dr. Krosnick will continue to summarize guidance from 100-years-worth of studies on optimizing questionnaire design.

Dr. Krosnick is the 2014 winner of the American Association for Public Opinion Research’s Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding research, a Frederic O. Glover Professor in Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor of Communication, Professor of Political Science, and (by courtesy) Professor of Psychology at Stanford University, director of the Political Psychology Research Group at Stanford, and director of the Summer Institute in Political Psychology at Stanford, as well as Research Psychologist at the U.S. Census Bureau.
