Kathryn Kaoudis will serve as the chief financial officer and vice president of administration and finance at SJSU, effective Sept. 1.

Kaoudis joins San José State following her tenure as the vice chancellor and chief financial officer at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, where she leads university-wide fiscal, administrative and operational functions. She previously served as vice president for administrative services and CFO at the Community College of Denver, controller at Red Rocks Community College, and interim deputy system controller for the Colorado Community College System. With more than two decades of executive-level experience, she brings deep expertise in financial planning, strategic budgeting, compliance, facilities management, and inclusive team leadership. She is known for her strategic acumen, collaborative approach and inclusive leadership style, all of which will be critical assets as we advance our institutional goals, steward university resources with care and support the long-term success of SJSU students, faculty and staff.

San José State University President Cynthia Teniente-Matson extends her sincere appreciation to the members of the search committee, whose commitment, persistence, and sense of urgency ensured a successful outcome.

“Special thanks go to Dean Priya Kannan, who served as chair of the search committee, and to Stan Nosek, who has graciously served as interim vice president for administration and finance since January,” she says. “Their leadership and partnership have been invaluable.”
