Klayton Adams, the offensive coordinator at nearby Sacramento State, and long-time assistant coach Kirk Doll recently joined the San Jose State University football coaching staff. Mike MacIntyre, now in his second season with the Spartans, made the announcement.

Adams will be the tight ends coach. Doll will be the special teams coordinator and the running backs coach.

Adams spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons at Sacramento State. He was the tight ends/offensive tackles coach in 2009 and the offensive line coach in 2010. The 2005 Boise State graduate was promoted to offensive coordinator after last season.

“Klayton is a Northern California native who played his high school and junior college ball in the area. He was the offensive coordinator at Sacramento State and brings a lot to us football-wise, recruiting-wise and he is very familiar with the WAC (Western Athletic Conference) from being a player at Boise State,” says MacIntyre.
