August 15, 2012 marked the first day of the California State University Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. With 36 remarkable post-masters students we got off to a great start. All students are nurses working in either advanced practice roles such as nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist, nursing administrators, or nursing educators. Most students work full time. The program is largely an online program operating on the Blackboard Learning Management System through CSU Fresno.
One student, Sharon Castellanos, was highlighted in the CSU blog and that blog about her project can be accessed at http://blogs.calstate.edu/voicesviews/?p=1505
The picture below is of the students first meeting during the icebreaker activity.
This is a great achievement for the Valley Foundation School of Nursing Graduate Programs and the SJSU campus! Congratulations to my colleagues who worked so hard in collaboration with CSU Fresno!
