Cervantes, Vicky (Student Health Center) is Stepping Beyond

“Our office values and mentors student leaders, but because sometimes “things happen” our students come to us at the 11th hour with a need. Frequently, this means Vicky is pulled in to support projects with last minute requests. Recently, we needed to get a poster printed but had to wait for student edits. As has happened many times, Vicky had lined up all of the paperwork in advance, then personally walked over to AS print shop multiple times to ensure that all parts of the project were completed by the deadline. This is just one of many examples where Vicky is willing to do whatever it takes to support our students/staff with projects. She is always willing to trouble-shoot unforeseen challenges and often stays late. She deserves to be recognized for “stepping beyond!” –Laurie Morgan

Hubbs, Brian (Student Affairs) is Stepping Beyond

“Brian supports the Career Center I.T. needs and is always so eager to assist us.Since I am not a  tech-savvy person, I have requested his assistance on many occasions. He is always so patient and willing to help me, and doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable. During a career fair at the event center, Brian, stayed with the career center registration team most of the day to ensure that we had optimal internet access to register our students for the fair. Brian’s calm and patient demeanor helps me and our dept. work through our I.T. challenges and keeps us out of crisis mode. Thanks, Brian!” –Nellie Rochon-Ellis

Larsen, Jessica (Office of the Provost) is Stepping Beyond

“Every month I reach out to Jessica to assist with the absence calendar, master payday and student payday. Jessica is always willing to get the message/reminders out to the academic departments and is always a pleasure to work with. Her continued support in assisting HR is appreciated and I look forward to continue my working relationship with her.” –Anita Vasquez
