“The HRIS team accesses a system we run reports from called PIMS/CIRS. This is a State of California controlled system where the HRIS team member usually has to be at a terminal on campus to be able to access it. Mario figured out a way to have HRIS team members access the system from their desktop machine via remote desktop. He received special permission from the State of California for us to do so. It is secure as we still login to our desktop machine on campus, but do that remotely, so we don’t have to physically go to campus. This has not only saved the HRIS team time by not having to drive down to campus, but also protected us by not having to leave the safety of our homes during the stay at home order.
