  1. A member of the Campus Reading Committee stated: About emotional lives, survival, and other timeless themes. Directly relevant to conversations about Black Lives Matter. The movie could be a benefit.

  2. This book is beautifully written. It follows the lives of two families that are devastated by the false imprisonment of Fonny on trumped up charges. The unfairness and corruption of the “justice” system are a central theme. One very graphic description of the first time Fonny and Tish make love.
