Armando Arias (B.A. Psychology ’13, M.A. Applied Anthropology ’15) is a social impact leader in Silicon Valley. As a Lead Product Researcher at BILL and formerly on Meta’s Social Impact team, he applies social science to create more equitable, human-centered technology. His work during the COVID-19 pandemic helped shape global strategies for digital community support, and he continues to mentor students and champion inclusive innovation.
Linda Hays (B.A Communication Studies ‘06) outside of a vibrant career in finance and real estate, Linda has provided thirteen years of leadership as a board of director to the non-profit Garden to Table, Silicon Valley. Linda’s influence has supported community partnerships, deepened educational outreach and ensured more San Jose residents come to learn and be nourished.
Dr. Woodhead has demonstrated robust scholarship, a significant publication record, and has given numerous significant presentations. Dr. Woodhead has contributed to textbooks and has a solo-authored book receiving international acclaim in the field of psychology. She is also dedicated to community engagement as demonstrated by her work with veterans and with student mental health, both subjects on which she has published.
Rachel Lazzeri-Aerts is a senior lecturer in Environmental Studies at San José State University, where she has been teaching since 2011. Known for her engaging, field-based courses and commitment to student success, she combines innovative instruction with real-world applications. She mentors graduate students, supports faculty development, and creates impactful community-engaged learning experiences.
