2012 Salzburg Scholar Accepts Position with Leon Panetta

Sarah Aghazadeh (2012 Salzburg Scholar, Graduate Student in Global Citizenship, and Dr. Reckmeyer’s Graduate Assistant) has accepted an offer to serve as scheduler for recently-retired Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta (effective 3/18/13).  Sarah was SJSU’s Panetta Scholar during the Fall 2010 semester, which she spent as a Congressional Intern in the office of Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-California), and she has stayed involved with the Panetta Institute for Public Policy at CSU-Monterey Bay since returning to SJSU.  Sarah will be handling Mr. Panetta’s engagements, press enquiries, and various other responsibilities as needed.  This is an extraordinary opportunity to work for one of the country’s most exceptional public leaders and we wish her the very best.  Contact Sarah directly (sarah.aghazadeh@sjsu.edu) for more information.
