Next Week’s Return to Campus

On Monday of next week, we’ll return to in-person instruction. Many members of our staff, faculty, and student body have been here on campus throughout the pandemic keeping the university running, providing the services we all need, and ensuring our full return to campus is a safe one. We owe them a huge thank-you and debt of gratitude.

Excited to be a Spartan!

As I continue to meet with members of our campus community—both in professional settings but also as casual, informal opportunities present themselves—I wanted to share with you my growing excitement about serving as SJSU interim president. This initial period on campus has only reinforced why I was so humbled and enthusiastic when CSU Chancellor Castro selected me for the role.

Happy New Year!

I’m beyond excited to be here at San José State University, honored to be serving as interim president, and eager to support the efforts of you all on behalf of this great university. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get started on supporting our mission, our students, each other and our region.

Transformation 2030 continues to unfold as “living, breathing” plan

As I prepare to speak at my final Commencement ceremonies in December and my stepping down from my role as president at San José State at the end of the year, I would like to reflect on Transformation 2030 and the incredible progress we have made in making this a living, breathing, actionable strategic plan.
