Post-commencement celebration, reflections, and a fond farewell

As we continue to bask in last week’s joyous in-person Commencement ceremonies and prepare for a well-deserved holiday break, I find myself reflecting on all that has taken place during my tenure as SJSU president. Perhaps it is that nostalgia that we experience when one special chapter in our life comes to an end.

Together, our campus community has accomplished so much over these years, and I am grateful to each of you for your important role in our collective efforts. In the following video message—in which I speak directly to you, the SJSU community—I convey my thanks and gratitude. I invite you to take a few minutes to watch and to reflect on and take pride in all we have done together.

The work this university has undertaken the past five years—some, but not all, of which I have described in this video message—is critical to the present and future of San José State. I thank each and every one of you for helping to make this university such a special place.

With gratitude, optimism for the future, and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season,

Dr. Mary A. Papazian

President
