SJSU Receives Nearly $2 Million in Record-breaking Share Your Spartan Heart Giving Campaign
On Tuesday, Feb. 13, San José State University asked students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university to “Share Your Spartan Heart” as part of the Day of Giving. After a record total of more than $1.8 million was raised, it is clear the Spartan community has great love for the university.
The $1.8 million marks the first time an annual Day of Giving raised over $1 million among all California State University campuses. The amount is a 411% increase from SJSU’s last Day of Giving in November 2022.
“The incredible generosity of our Spartan community is truly inspiring,” said President Cynthia Teniente-Matson. “Every gift will directly benefit our outstanding students, alumni and community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day a great success.”
Over 70 projects, departments, and programs were part of the Day of Giving. More than 1,500 gifts were made, including a million dollar gift commitment. In total, over 1,250 donors participated in the Share Your Spartan Heart campaign.
The Day of Giving will remain open until Tuesday, Feb. 20. If you would like to be part of the record-breaking Day of Giving, visit the Day of Giving website.
