Charlie Faas
Charlie Faas has been appointed chief financial officer and vice president for administration and finance effective June 1. He will serve on the president’s cabinet and report directly to incoming President Mary Papazian.
A seasoned financial executive with three decades of progressive, diverse, private and public sector experience, Faas most recently served as CEO of the USA Pavilion at Expo Milano, a non-profit organization selected by the State Department to ensure a strong U.S. presence at the 2015 World’s Fair in Milan, Italy.
For ten years prior to that, Faas was executive vice president and CFO for Sharks Sports & Entertainment, the business enterprise of the National Hockey League’s San Jose franchise. He also served on the executive board of the team’s non-profit foundation. In these capacities, he interacted closely and productively with many local and regional partners, including the city of San Jose. In addition, he has held senior roles in financial management with numerous entities in Silicon Valley and New York, including IBM.
