2010 Bay Area Medical Device Conference attendees

Biomed professionals, students and faculty members will gather for the second annual Bay Area Medical Device Conference on March 30 at SJSU.

More than 250 professionals, faculty members and students are expected to attend the 2011 Bay Area Medical Device Conference on March 30 at SJSU.

“This one-day event will focus on recent developments and future trends, presented by invited medical device experts from industry, academia and research organizations,” said Emily Wong, student president of the SJSU Biomedical Engineering Society.

Topics to be covered include: recent developments in imaging technologies, U.S. Food and Drug Administration and CE regulation updates, drug and cell encapsulation, infections on implanted devices, orthopedics and prosthetics, and advanced materials and technologies for medical device applications.

This conference also seeks to improve networking among industry professionals, and university-industry collaborations.  SJSU graduate students will present research posters, and the event will conclude with a wine-and-cheese reception.

Sponsors and exhibitors will have display booths.
