The Sammys, hosted by the San Jose State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), recognizes San Jose State’s top achievements in competition, in the classroom and in the community during the year.

Head coach Wayne Wright and the gymnastics team took home top honors as the Spartan Cup Champion. The trophy is awarded to the team who collects the most points throughout the year in five Champs Life Skills areas: Athletic Excellence, Academic Excellence, Personal Development, Career Development and Community Involvement.

Softball was first runner-up and women’s basketball was second runner-up and both received recognition and gift certificates for their efforts.
