Tuition may be going up again at San Jose State University. CSU Chancellor Charles Reed is calling for a midyear tuition hike of 5% for most students.

That would mean undergraduate students at SJSU and others in the CSU system would pay upwards of $100 more for the spring semester than they did for the current semester. Reed is also recommending an additional 10% increase starting in fall 2011.

CSU is blaming a drop in state funding, but some students point to what they call exorbitant administrator salaries. It’s the fourth time tuition has been hiked since 2007.

University trustees are expected to vote on the tuition hikes at their meeting in Long Beach next month.
