Don’t just walk on by those newly installed pianos outside King Library and the Student Union. Play them! They offer an early glimpse into the 2010 01SJ Biennial, North America’s largest digital arts festival, beginning Thursday, September 16, in downtown San Jose. Artist Luke Jerram’s project encourages the public to play 20 tuned and decorated pianos placed in various outdoor venues.

SJSU Professor Joel Slayton co-founded 01SJ in 2006 to inspire creativity at the intersection of art, technology and digital culture. He is executive director of ZER01, the festival’s producer.
