Muhammed Chaudhry

“Education is the heart of systematic change. I want to spend my time doing something valuable with lasting impact.”

Don’t get him wrong: lifelong Bay Area resident Chaudhry, ’04 Finance, appreciates much of what San Jose has to offer. But he also finds Silicon Valley’s pronounced divisions of wealth and poverty deeply disturbing. A way to tackle that economic disparity, he realized, was to take a new approach to learning. Soon thereafter, he became “obsessed with the notion of preparing students for college and careers.” As CEO of Silicon Valley Education Foundation, Chaudhry intends to change the face of education in Silicon Valley by making its high school graduates the best-prepared college students in the state.
