From news tickers to Internet ads, our culture is saturated in media. Karthika Sasikumar uses simulations to help students identify credible information and its significance. In her U.S. foreign policy class, students studied roles within the U.S. government and were then charged to address a problem in the nation’s best interest. Our information-rich society demands critical thinkers who are able to appreciate their role as universal citizens. “Silicon Valley is one of the most global places in the world. I remind students that their daily lives are connected to, and affected by, developments in the wider world.”
