Eugene Cordero

Professor, Meteorology and Climate Science

“I’m passionate about promoting solutions to climate change.”

One way of raising awareness about climate change? Bike 320 miles in five days from Eureka to San Francisco. Climate Ride California, a cycling adventure, covers the “Redwood Empire,” the Northern scenic coast, the Russian River Valley and the Golden Gate Bridge. Joining the expedition this spring was SJSU’s own Green Ninja team, led by Cordero. The Green Ninja cyclers raised funds for the Green Ninja project, a nonprofit environmental outreach program designed to educate middle-school kids about climate change by means of a green superhero. Cordero’s ninja brainchild is also a superhero on YouTube, attracting more than a million viewers.
