Assistant Professor, Accounting and Finance
“My students learn in the most dynamic and innovative region of the world.”
Whether he’s teaching investment strategies or conducting research on exchange-traded funds, Stoyu Ivanov makes finance appealing. Right now, his students manage $50,000 of real money in the Financial Navigator Student Managed Investment Fund. This student-managed investment fund attempts to beat the S&P 500 index, while offering the opportunity to learn analysis and diversification hands-on. Ivanov, who hails from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is at home in the classroom. His students are hard working, resourceful and polite, and are gainfully employed at some of the top companies in the Silicon Valley and beyond. “You cannot achieve this in many places around the world.”
