To kickoff the year, Lurie College Special Education faculty members Lisa Simpson and Matthew Love partnered with the Children’s Discovery Museum to facilitate a workshop to help museum staff better engage all patrons in their exhibits and activities.  After touring the museum and talking with staff members, Lisa and Matt shared some of the strategies they use in special education, particularly to support active engagement of individuals who may have autism spectrum disorders.  This Saturday, February 9, from 5:30-8pm, the Children’s Discovery Museum is hosting Play Your Way, an event designed especially for children with autism, ages 2-15, and their families.  Lurie College is proud to have faculty members like Lisa and Matt who are collaborating with organizations in the community to create positive and accessible learning experiences and we hope to continue the relationship with the Children’s Discovery Museum San Jose!
