Student Assistants Needed for a Research Project Diabetes Prevention
As part of the Timpany Center Diabetes Prevention Study, we will be measuring lipid and glucose levels from a fingerstick blood sample using the Cholestech analyzer. Participants will be entering the study in cohorts, with the first groups scheduled to beginJuly 15. If you are interested in helping with the cholesterol and glucose screenings, please contact Peggy Plato (Peggy.Plato@sjsu.edu). The project will continue for at least 1 year, although you do not need to commit to working with the study for that length of time. You will be trained in how to obtain the fingerstick samples and use the Cholestech analyzer. Fasting samples are required, so most screening will take place in the morning. Specific dates and times for screening have not been scheduled yet. However, if interested, we need to complete paperwork so you can be paid through the Research Foundation. Salary is $14/hour.
