“Earlier this spring we had an international student who needed support from the Risk Management Office for his foreign travel plans.  His situation did not fall under the current policy framework of the CSU and Mark could have easily dismissed the issue as one where the student was “on his own”.  Instead, Mark worked tirelessly over the course of several months to negotiate on behalf of this student so that they could travel abroad.  He facilitated conversations between a foreign company offering an internship and our pooled risk authority to ensure that this student was able to fulfill his dreams of an international internship.  For going above and beyond and having a laser focus on student success, even one student at a time, Mark Loftus most certainly stepped beyond.” –Bradley Olin
