Back by Popular Demand! Year-End Dates and Spring Finance What’s Up?

Last October, the Finance Service Group surveyed the campus about customer service and 73% of the respondents requested the reinstatement of Year End cut-off dates. We agree!

Year End cut-off dates make clear both your responsibilities and ours as we approach the end of the fiscal year.  You help to ensure that all transactions occur and are recorded in the proper fiscal year, and we process those transactions when submitted timely to meet the final posting date on June 30th.

The 2017-18 Year End cut-off dates can be found on the Finance website. Please reach out to the departments or persons indicated if you have any questions, or contact FinanceConnect at financeconnect@sjsu.edu or 4-1558 .

Save the Date!

We will also be available to answer questions at our Spring 2018 What’s Up? event on April 27th  (9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in MLK 225).

Here’s to a successful fiscal close!

Campus Marketplace Issue

The Chancellor’s Office reported some users were experiencing issues in ESM’s Campus Marketplace last week. It was determined that the problems were isolated to older versions of the Firefox web browser.

ESM is working to resolve the matter. If you have experienced any problem with Campus Marketplace while using Firefox, please contact your IT person to update your browser to the latest version or switch to using Chrome or Internet Explorer. We will update you with status. Thank you.

March Accounting Period Close

For employees who track or manage department budgets, please note that the month of March 2018 is now closed in CFS.

This means that the General Ledger (GL) system will not accept any more entries with a March journal date. March transactions can still be entered into the GL system, but the journal date must be 4/1/2018 or later. The current period open is April 2018.
