The College of Applied Sciences and Arts School of Journalism and Mass Communications at San Jose State University, along with the Council of PR firms will host “Take Flight With PR” Nov. 5, from 5:30-9 p.m. The last day to RSVP at Eventbrite (http://sjsutakeflightwithpr-es2.eventbrite.com/?rank=104) for the free event is Nov. 1.

The event features presentations and a panel discussion consisting of the top PR and communication executives in the bay area. Those who attend will have a chance to interact with speakers and agency recruiters after the panel discussion.

Jim Weiss, the CEO and chair of W20 Group, will be the keynote speaker. Weiss is a senior corporate communications counselor with nearly 25 years of experience in strategic media, investor relations and marketing communications focused on healthcare, medical device, biotechnology and life sciences industries, according to his company’s website. He was named to PRWeek’s Power List for 2010.
