San Jose State University Alumni Association

Alumni Association Scholarships
Since 1975, the San Jose State University Alumni Association has awarded scholarships to students who excel in their academic studies and actively participate in the betterment of their communities through volunteer work. Why give?
Two outstanding students from each college are chosen by their deans for the honor with awards ranging from $1250 to $2000. For 2012-13, these awards will be $3000-$4000 thanks to support from our donors. This is possible through your contributions. To learn more about how you can help strengthen this valuable Alumni Association initiative to provide greater educational opportunities for deserving SJSU students, please contact Janikke Klem at 408-924-1143. Santa Clara Valley Area Chapter Scholarships

The College of Education scholarships are supported by the Santa Clara Valley Area Chapter. The awards are given in honor of longtime SJSU advocates and educators Larry Wilson and Hal Riddle.
Santa Cruz Area Chapter Scholarships
Each year the Santa Cruz Area Chapter provides scholarships to high school and community college students from Santa Cruz County who elect to attend SJSU. Chosen by chapter members for their commitment to education and the community, these awards are supported by the chapter’s annual activities, including the holiday celebration and silent auction. More than $20,000 is awarded.
The Hoover Langdon Scholarship
The Alumni Association also awards one scholarship to an SJSU student selected by the Financial Aid Office on the basis of need, academic achievement and community service. Many 50-year reunion classes have made a contribution to the Hoover-Langdon Scholarship Endowment, which began in 1954.
