Using RSS to republish content!

December 14th, 2009

In the past few months we have been making numerous incremental changes on a few websites to republish content using RSS.  Promoting the idea of creating content once and publishing it anywhere, a RSS feed can be read.  I have talked to my team, Office of Public Affairs & CIO on this topic as it seems to fit well with an efficient communication plan.

Brad Mitchell from Missouri State has an excellent presentation (URL:  http://www.missouristate.edu/web/74869.htm ) on this topic. Here Brad, talks about working examples from Office of Web and New Media  and endless possibilities  to re-purpose content across multiple platforms like FaceBook, YouTube,  iTunes U, Flickr, Twitter etc.

In  a nutchell, I am delighted to see the convergence of technology using RSS.
